Scott leading scorer in win for Hurricanes in second round game of NCAA Tournament

Guard Durand Scott had 21 points and five made three point shots as the Miami Hurricanes beat Pacific on Friday in the East Regional of the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Scott is a senior from The Bronx, N.Y. He played basketball at Rice High School before coming to the Hurricanes.  

When he was at Rice High School, he was named most valuable player in the state Class 2-A title game in his senior season.

As a freshman at Miami, Scott averaged 10.3 points per game and played 27.8 minutes.

In his spohomore year with the Hurricanes, Scott had an average of 32.8 minutes per game and scored 13.6 points.

As a junior at Miami, he averaged 12.9 points per game and played 33.2 minutes.

This season as a senior, Scott is playing 34.2 minutes per game and is scoring 13.2 points.

His major at Miami is business management.
