Greg Gantt is a senior guard for the FAU Owls.In his final season at FAU, he is the third-leading scorer in men's college basketball in the nation. Gantt is only trailing behind Virginia Tech's Erick Green and Creighton's Doug McDermott in scoring in the nation. According to OwlAccess, he is now seventh in the nation in scoring after he scored 13 points in consecutive games.
He is the all-time leading scorer in school history when he broke the record on December 27 against Troy.
Gantt is faster on the court this season due to his 30 pound weight loss. "He's taken a small creature off his back," Owls head coach Mike Jarvis said to the University Press.
Gantt credits the coaching staff for developing as a player. "The coaching staff here has so much knowledge of the game and it's really helped me. My intelligence has improved over four years. I think I'm a better student of the game, which has helped me slow the game down," Gantt said to the University Press.
The Owls next game is on Jan. 31 versus Louisiana-Monroe.
